all right let's take a look at Alana because a couple of you had mentioned that you would like an updated review on Alana so let's take a look they are back on appsumo right now for a last call off so um it's pretty a nice little discount uh so this is alfana they've got some really good reviews looking like almost five stars and 98 reviews we're just going to go ahead and right in let's go take a look at Alana it's been around since I believe July of 2024 because if we go back over here uh you can scroll down and you'll see the V featured videos Abo's been doing this more uh right over here videos um you'll see that I'm the first featured video right there and you can see it was July 17th 2024 so it's been around for about six seven eight months so we'll go take a look okay perfect so that just took a few minutes and you can see that it is finished right over here so I'm trying to remember kind of what we do next so uh we have all these options up here uh we can go to templates and we can go to projects but uh I believe that we really just come over here and we look and see what what kind of content we want so we have a learn wire YouTube we have coaching follow-up email quiz creation template uh startup pitch all right so I'm going to go over the price so you have a license tier one $69 license tier $138 license tier three $319 and license tier 4 $19 you're going to really have to like the tool in order to go license tier 4 um we're going to go and do some more demoing but I wanted to go over the pricing over here this video the next day um I had some technical difficulties so U I'll be able to wrap this up a lot quicker now what I did was you can see over here that we tested the sof the software out when I did the first review back in July of 2024 you can see the different projects that we added then now you can see that March 11th I added two videos that we're going to go and take a look at uh and we're going to see what you can do over here so before we go into projects we'll just go in and I'll show you so from uploading these two videos you can always go to Clips right here and when you go to Clips you'll be able to see all the clips that Alana automatically created for us um I'll talk more about Clips uh in a bit but just know that uh you know I'm going to give you this nice kind of bonus tip right off the bat so you don't have to wait for the entire video if your plan is to just get clips and really go heavy on video reproduction uh to you know make shorts to post them on Tik Tok uh Instagram reals uh YouTube shorts Etc um this is probably not the tool for you in my opinion because there's there's not very much customization that we're allowed to do okay so we come over here these are all the clips that were created from those two videos um we can we can download these right and um I've already exported this and we'll go look and see what this looks like but this is what uh it's going to look like let's see right here and just watch this for a second standpoint that's what neuron writer is doing and to is doing its job by creating a content to be as high as as you can possibly get it okay so what we ended up doing is we use neuron riter to come out here and analyze our content right so we put our term subscriber now notice how pixelized this is and we downloaded this so This is actually what the final format's going to be so first of all quality is not that great uh it's actually really bad um and then you know there this is not zooming in in any way I think we might be able to do like a fit or something like that but there but we really don't have fine-tuning control like we do in other tools like Opus clip so I really wanted to just kind of point that out that I don't think that the that the clip here you'll have to just be okay with them um but they're probably not going to go viral uh based on even the quality or the uh selection because if we come in here and we click on one it's going to open up and this it's going to open up the project automatically for us and this is where we'll be able to come down here into the clips which is the highlight video clips right here um and here's where the clips are we're going to click on the card right here um and we can enable captions we can change the the background and the font color and this is where we can scale our video to fit fill or Auto it's basically set to Auto but uh there's no way to so what did I end up doing well you know move this over so like if I come over here and I change this to 9 by6 vertical nothing happens and we're not able to fine-tune and move where we want the screen to show if that makes sense so um like I said this is going to be this is going to um work better if you are um creating videos maybe talking head videos maybe it's it's going to work better for um but screen recording type videos it's not going to work um very well for um but it does create all these clips for you automatically um there is no Auto posting again there's no like fine-tuning and and and editing of the video itself there's very minimal options that you have now you would just go and download these and then you would go and schedule them in your scheduler or schedule them directly to the platforms that you want want to publish them on so it's not really saving a whole lot of time uh when it comes to the clip thing other than it's it's dividing these up into Clips okay so I wanted to point that out I don't think Alana's shine um and like quote unquote golden uh Golden Nugget or golden Taco is going to be uh for video shorts uh but it's going to now you want to stick with me because Alana shines in every other way it shines for text creation and so forth okay so that's the clips version now we're going to come back and we're going to back out of this we're going to go to templates when I click on templates this is U kind of how you got started now one of the other things and I'm kind of going over some of the cons if you will cons are the the video clips it's really not the best tool for that um I I use Opus clip and you do have to pay you have to buy credits um but Opus Clips the uh amount of tech that they've put into um you know the editing of your clips and so forth uh is amazing you can push a button and Boll comes in and all that if you guys want me to do another um or I don't even know if I've ever done a review on that so I'll probably do an opus Clips uh review for you guys just to kind of show you you know how I use that tool but you can do a lot of fine tuning with that and so that's what I recommend for your Clips type of um video editor one of the only other things that that really kind of gets me um from a just a con standpoint um with Alana is the navigation is is not the greatest uh now I know that really this part over here you could kind of ignore all this part and so really all you have going on is right here so obviously you kind of ignore the trash as well so really you all you have is create new projects and clips so that part is kind of self-explanatory to me but as a new user going on a New Journey with the software they're really and they do have the quick tips kind of wizard to take you on so that's fine too but there's some fine-tuning things that you have to kind of figure out yourself and what that means is is if I go in and I want to create if I want to create a new um project or template what you would really what you need to do is you have to come in here and you would say for example click on social media and then once you come into social media it's going to pull up this kind of card for us right and it's going to tell you what kind of stuff is going to explain this card who this is for and they have this all set up for you which is nice but what you um have to do is even up here there's no way to save this right so there's not really a way to like this just explains what this template does kind of goes over it so this just goes over um this is almost like training if if you will because you have to uh create new in order to actually do anything with a template see there's no save templates down here there's also so uh and I have saved my own templates and and those are not showing up down here so that part's a little strange and again you can't really do anything from here this is just explaining to you what these templates do to use a template tap the create button on the left so they are are telling you right that with a useful tip so this is just a training center that is very confusing to me um by having templates over here and just it it's just a little confusing I think it will be confusing for most people so what you end up having to do is you go to create new and then this is where you would go up here so you can see where I I have a learn wire template that I've saved and I for the life of me couldn't figure it out yesterday um but then I finally did so what you would end up doing is right here you're going to upload your video right so you're going to add a video you're going to put your URL in here you're going to select YouTube um and then you're going to um put in your Ur RL right there and then push next and then it's going to go and upload and I've already done that ahead of time so we don't have to wait um and then you're going to select what template you want okay so once that's done you're going to arrive at your project and we'll go and take a look at this project so this is what ends up happening once you upload a video in this case it did a really good job at taking my URL from my video and I think that that might also be a reason for the really bad quality uh when it downloads the video it might be I don't know but it's just kind of a guess uh that the quality and pixelization of the download is not that great because they're taking a video from YouTube and then they're downloading it um they're basically downloading it and so I would recommend probably trying to upload the video so I want to go to create new and just see if we can actually just upload a video and so uh down here you can see you can choose between uh chap GPT 40 or 4 mini um and uh so you can select whatever you want there you can see your credits at all time um add YouTube or upload so I would probably uh go with upload from my device and I would just try that and see if it's a little bit better um next time okay so we'll go over to projects and we'll go and go right back into here and I'll just show you this real quick so this is what you end up getting now I'm on tier one you can see appsumo license tier one and if we come down here and we look at the plans and features you'll see that we we can only create 10 cards um on Li since tier one now I can tell you that I probably would need more than 10 I want YouTube titles I want thumbnails I want um SEO a description all that stuff for YouTube and then there's and then I want a blog post created then I want a LinkedIn post then I want maybe a Twitter um and and so one it starts adding up believe it or not and you'll you'll need more and so they did a really good job at um having you upgrade based on the amount of cards you can use per project and so I find that you probably if this is going to be the tool for you even um from the AI credit standpoint and the hours license tier 1's going to probably be for you if you're only doing you know maybe two to three videos uh per month we're starting to cut into ours you can see on our credits over there so I would say license tier 2 three or four would be the best way to go uh it starts really getting steep around license tier 4 obviously at 600 bucks all in um but I really think that you'll open up what you what you can do and it'll probably satisfy most workflows at license tier 2 or even license tier 3 you're going to have a lot of cards in quite a bit of time with the tool okay so this is what ends up happening right after so you have uh this is already predefined okay now if I go in here and I start me um messing with things newsletter right here let's say I don't like these subject lines um one of the best things that I like about Alana is that we can edit all of these prompts you can come in here and edit the prompt right here to make it ex exactly what you want it to be and and and start testing it out and then generate regenerate and when you finally start getting the results that you want you've got a really nice um prompt that you've created okay and then it will always save now if this is a based on a new template right if this is based on a new template that you selected from one of theirs you can uh Delete you can just push delete on any of these and you can come down here and you can add uh new ones right you can come in here and you can add different cards right here here that you want to add and it will add to your workflow right over here when you upload a video it'll automatically do all this for you pretty brilliant actually the amount of control um that we do have on this so these are each called cards um and then you have a project so the whole thing is a project this right here combined together is basically a template you create your own template and then here's the cards each one of these little things right here is a card so with all that said that part actually took me fooling around with the system quite a bit to kind of figure out all of that um but then right over here um what you do is you click the three little dots over here and this is where you save your template you save your template and that's where I got that learn wire YouTube um on the other on you know the learn wire YouTube I saved that template this is where you get all this the way you want it and then you save your template okay so that's kind of how that works so you can really create custom workflows for your videos um let's say you don't want like an email recap you would just uh you know delete that one and it got rid of it right and then if we wanted to add another one over here and let's just say we go with um AI images right over here so I'm going to click AI images it's going to go ahead and add the AI image over here now um it's adding that card over here now one thing that I really liked was it's called thumbnail options so what what I would do with the blog post is you're going to um see right here that it automatically it's it started with Once Upon a Time um it has uh it's telling a story right over here I probably would go in there and change that part right there but this particular one uh blog post uh not template but card it's a it's a card that they created is better than the standard blog post the standard blog post was pretty bad um with all the way that it started all the sentences was very AI uh but what you can do is you can always come over here and you can just click the three dots and you can go and you can AI card instructions you can edit the prompt and this is where the magic really happens and you can see right over here um that um this isn't the one I'll show you on the next one okay so this one's pretty aiish um but another cool thing about the blog post one is if you use the blog post you could go in there and also grab the thumbnails and these are basically taking Clips or screenshots of the video that you could put in your blog post um that would make total sense in your blog post of Act of the actual software so I really liked that this could really really improve and help out a workflow uh so you see all these different things right over here and what you would do is like let's just say we uploaded our video we haven't posted it to um YouTube yet we can use it for the YouTube tags these are all comma separated right here and if I click over here and just say edit prompt uh you'll see uh which one was it where it's just really really a YouTube description come over here and I want to look at the YouTube description that it came up with the three little dots and edit the prompt and this is as simple as a prompt can get create a description of this video for YouTube that's pretty bad right we want to have a lot of Direction um and tell it exactly the type of description um so you can edit all these prompts right here so the more I mess around with Alana the more I like it because um you know when you get into prompt engine enging and you use these softwares you really start understanding how important prompting is for AI to get the result that you're actually looking for it's usually not ai's fault it's actually The Prompt and and the human prompt engineering's fault uh not getting the results that we're looking for and so Alana gives us the opportunity to really f- tune and get where we want to go uh one of the only other kind of cons or complaints I have is that I would like them to be adding uh Claud uh to the mix for AI now when we come up here to settings uh you will see that there's just there's an API setting we can bring our own key right here explains um explains how to do that new projects will be open in your open AI after existing projects will continue to use AI um but I don't think that this this this only works for open AI so I would love for them to allow us to bring in our claw AI open AI key or our CLA API key um that would be a gamechanging for me cuz that's the one that I like so right now that we're limited to just two open AIS right now but hopefully that will change um and then I'm just kind of trying to go over some final thoughts not a whole lot has changed about Alana in the you know since they've launched they came to the game with a pretty solid MVP um and not a whole lot's changed uh to the interface or anything about what's going on uh with the tool um but overall I think it's very solid um I'm going to go back over to projects real quick and we'll take a look at the other one right over here which is this one that I uploaded as well and this is another one right over here so we have our um our card and the title here's the video and then you can just start going through if you only need a couple things you can just I like how you can just it's like chapters you can just go and click on it and it'll take you right to what you need again there's all those screenshots right there uh we can go to blog post right over here and I think that this one creates a better blog post because when you go to add clip and then we type in uh blog you'll see that there's a bunch more like How To tutorial thousand words blog post video recap thousand words and you can see that the prompt is a lot better A lot more refined and detailed and so they have a lot of these right there that you can get inspiration from and still make it your own but the prompt is a lot better and I'm going to show you right over here where they put in here don't start with cliche phrases like in today's world or in the digital age so just right there you can take that keep that add to this prompt and you'll start getting a lot better uh Pro results right and so that's how I would use the tool you're not getting a massive blog post but this is pretty good it's about 750 words right here what you what I would recommend doing is maybe taking this it's going to be really good uh on point text which is great based on the video so that's great right and then what I would do is I would take it into neuron riter and add a little bit of a flare to it to make it uh more SEO friendly um get a higher SEO score maybe add an FAQ U so you're adding a little bit more beefing up the the amount of text that you have and then posting it right and you can have your your virtual assistant um do those types of things to get even better results so um so that's just kind of my final like once you get this the way that you want um and all the cards that you want then you would just come over here and you would save your template and then that's the one that you would use for every video you would create a video you would use that template and you would have all the content you needed um to help you post your video to help you repurpose your content and so forth okay so to kind of recap Alana um here's the pricing right over here I'll stay like right there so you can kind of look at the pricing um I believe I gave it a fourstar or higher um you know back when I first reviewed it about eight months ago I'm I'm I'm definitely sticking with the four stars I don't know um you know know if it's if it's changed or anything so I would stick with my same score I don't know what I ended up giving it but it's it's definitely between a four and 4.5 star and I'm just going to kind of leave with that because I already reviewed this I don't know what I ended up giving it let me go check real quick okay so here we are we I gave it a solid 4.0 Stars uh and so I would probably stick with that um just for the fact that I mean the pricing is pretty steep over here but in a sense I kind of agree with it to be honest with you just for the fact that this is using AI a lot of AI and a lot of uh bandwidth and so forth um and so they have to be very careful with this price point right over here um they now they have numbers how much people actually use the tool and if you do some quick math and so forth you'll you know you'll have to balance out the heavy users lifetime users versus the lifetime users that haven't even logged into the system yet kind of balance all that out and still know like what you how many sales and so forth how much you need uh per month to pay the bills all that kind of good stuff right I think I checked they have about 12,000 visitors coming to their site per month um and so you know it's probably a solid company that we can bet is going to be here for quite a while um I don't think I saw anything that was any different uh than when I originally re reviewed the software and so this I'm going to stick with a solid 4.0 on this uh like I said this is probably one of the better content repurposing apps that has um hit appsumo in the last two or three years um I love that you can change all the prompts for every single card that you have and you can get the results that you're looking for um I would like to see Claude added as an option and they definitely need to rehaul the video clip if they really want to stand out and be you know maybe not on the same level as Opus Clips cuz that's exactly and what they focused on and they're probably a multi-million dollar funded tool but if could get even mvo and some of those other tools did better with uh clipping content and so uh the video clipping is probably the worst feature in my opinion and so it's just kind of like what do you need in your workflow um if you need all those other text things and you want to use this for all your SEO optimization and your blog posting and all that I think alvano will get the job done um especially with the custom editing of the prompts this would be the tool for you but if you're only going with I think that a really good uh toolkit for people that are doing podcast or YouTube would be to pick up Alana for all your text based stuff that you need blog posts uh social media content all that kind of good stuff and then I would pick up I would still use Opus clip because I believe that's mostly what people are using that want good Clips uh you know Auto clips and that would just be those two together would be a really good tool kit uh to to have what do you
